I know. It's hard to have hope in something that is broken...and our world is broken. There is so much hate. How do we hold on to our hope in the shadows of the darkness? Jesus said when trials come. He didn't say if they will. Holding onto hope is the only thing we have when a season of darkness is upon us. You're right, it is a lot easier said than done. And yes - it gets annoying when you ask someone how to get through a hard time and all they say is "have hope in Jesus and pray." Trust me, i know it's frustrating hearing that time after time again because it feels like it just doesn't work. But it is the truth. The devil doesn't want us to take Jesus seriously. He doesn't want us to rely on Jesus in our brokenness because he knows that's how we will defeat darkness. When darkness comes it comes to steal our trust in Jesus. When something bad happens it is so easy to turn away from Jesus and blame him, but we need to do the exact opposite. We need to run to him. We need to trust him. We need to hide in his faithfulness because that is the only thing that will overcome the evil in this world. The devil is afraid of our faith. Our faith in God can move mountains and it can heal a broken world. Jesus made us dangerous to the kingdom of darkness. If we hold onto our hope in God during our brokenness we will overcome anything. Having FEAR is having FAITH in the enemy. The enemy has come to tear us down but we can't let him. We have to hold on to our only hope in this world - Jesus. We have the power to overcome the brokenness and evil in this world. It is up to us to take our faith and hope seriously. We have to trust that God us bigger and stronger than our circumstances. The circumstances of this world do not define us and they do not control us. Our God is love and our God lives in us so we must spread his love. Hope, love and trust is the cure to a broken world. All we have to do is put our trust and hope in the almighty all knowing God and his love will pour out onto our broken world.
